Distinguished Guests at St Dominic's
2 February 2010Staff and pupils of St. Dominic’s were delighted yesterday when a large number of dignitaries came to visit the brand new facilities in the school. Among the very distinguished guests were Cardinal Murphy O’Connor, Monsignor Ambrose Macauley, the Right Reverend Alan Abernethy, Church of Ireland, Dr John Sentamu, Archbishop of York, Monsignor Mark, Sr Clement, Monsignor Charlie Byrne, Secretary to the British Ambassador in Rome, Professor Peter Gregson, Vice-Chancellor of Queen’s University, Belfast, Professor Denis Moloney and Dr Maria Moloney.
The guests were warmly welcomed by Principal Mrs Carol McCann, Chairperson of the Board of Governors Father Paul Fleming and members of staff and pupils. Members of the St. Dominic’s Senior Choir and Cumann Ceoil also performed at the St. Brigid’s Day lecture in St. Brigid’s Parish Centre which was delivered by Cardinal Murphy O’Connor and attended by Cardinal Brady, Lord Eames and the Lord Chief Justice.
