The Stock Market Challenge
1 March 2010Congratulations to the four Year 11 pupils who won today’s Stock Market Challenge. Three teams competed at lunchtime to win a place in The Stock Market Challenge Final, which will take place on Thursday 11 March in the University of Ulster, Jordanstown. The business and maths students had to combine their numerical and enterprising skills to invest £50,000 in ten imaginary companies. Before the game began, they were given current market share prices for each company, a news website showing the latest news bulletins about each company as well as company profiles.
All competing teams made a profit on their investments but it was team two who invested wisely and earned the most profit by the time the market closed. M Mulholland 11E, S McCusker 11A, E Murphy 11E and M Madden 11D will go on to compete against schools from across Northern Ireland at the Stock Market Challenge on Thursday 11th March 2010.
