The Religious Studies Department are running a Pilgrimage to Fatima in June 2017

Located in west central Portugal, in the region of Leiria and approximately 110 kilometres north of Lisbon, the small town of Fatima is one of the most visited Marian shrines in the world today. In the years 1916 and 1917 a series of apparitions were seen by three young children that were to profoundly alter both their own lives and the atmosphere of the peasant village. You will note that 2017 is the 100th anniversary of the apparitions.

This will be our sixth Pilgrimage since 2007 and our previous trips have been very well received and very successful.

We would like you to note that this is a pilgrimage and that all of the excursions are essentially religious. We do however intend to visit Lisbon Zoo, the Aquarium and a large shopping mall, places of historical interest and a local High School. The Dominicans have strong communities and connections in Fatima and Lisbon and we intend to visit some of their convents.

The trip will cost £690 and this price includes all taxes, transfers, meals and excursions. We are planning to travel on Saturday 24th June-Thursday 29th June.

There are still some places available and if you would like your daughter to be considered for a place please contact Mrs Wilson. A non-refundable deposit of £100 will secure a place.
