Using Minecraft in Belfast Harbour

Fifteen pupils from 8C travelled to Belfast Harbour Office to the launch of a STEM Minecraft Project. The project was organised by STEM AWARE, a company who promote STEM to young children and teenagers, who collaborated with Gilbert Ash and Belfast Harbour Office.

Gilbert Ash are the lead contractors in the huge development initiative at City Quays. The pupils met with representatives of Gilbert Ash and the lead contractor and were shown the site of a new Marriott hotel which will be completed in January 2018.

STEM AWARE are creating a resource kit so that pupils can use Minecraft software to create various parts of Belfast City Quays Harbour, but mainly the new hotel. They intend to have a second celebration day where each school involved will return to collaborate and meet with Gilbert Ash to display the work they produced.
