The St Dominic’s i#will team presented details of the #iwill Challenge to members of the Education Committee at Stormont on Tuesday 22nd of November. The three Ambassadors introduced the MLAs to the #iwill Challenge which aims to encourage young people take practical action in the service of others, to create positive change. It is hoped this social action will be youth led, challenging, have a positive impact, allow progression to other opportunities, be embedded in a young person’s life and enable participants to reflect on the value of their activity.
The three students, Therese Crossan, Maebh Reynolds and Amy Hookings are promoting the campaign since they want every young person to have the chance to fully participate and create a service habit for life. The pupils spoke of their roles as volunteers, the importance of engagement and what they hoped to achieve from being a Youth Ambassador. They were joined by two students from Ballymena Academy and representatives from Volunteer Now Northern Ireland.
It has been a busy week for Amy, on Monday she travelled to London to attend the Step up to Serve event to welcoming the new intake of UK Youth Ambassadors.
