Gaelic 4 Girls

A number of year 8, 9 and 10 pupils have been involved in a 6week initiative to try and encourage more girls to participate in Gaelic football.  This initiative was in partnership with Lamh Dhergs Sean McLaren who lead the coaching sessions and the Belfast city council who funded the project.  The project seeks to develop physical, health and wellbeing, personal and social skills in the students through enjoyable pupil centred activities.

The finale seen the girls competing in a blitz.  After which they had a presentation by the Deputy Lord Mayor Belfast City Council Councillor Mary Ellen Campbell.  Also in attendance was Janine Crawford Sports Development Department, Stephen Buntingdevelopment officer and Sean McElhatton Chair Strategic Development group both Lamh Dhearg CLG.
