Following their win in the Northern Ireland final, the St. Dominic's Magistrates team progressed on to the national final which was held at the Royal Courts of Justice in London on Saturday the 18th of June 2016.
270 teams from across the UK had competed to make it through to the final 16 schools. The competition educates young people about their legal rights and responsibilities as well as giving an insight into the Magistrates' court system. The students also had the opportunity to develop their public speaking, analytical and team working skills as they take on the role of barristers, witnesses and court staff in a specially written case.
As well as attending the competition the students had the opportunity to see many of the famous sites in London as well as shopping in some of London's famous shops. Whilst the team did not win, several of the judges competed on the outstanding performance of the team as well as commending individual members on their roles.
