St Dominic’s was well represented, with 2 teams competing at the Sentinus 2017 Young Scientists Competition held in the Ulster University Jordanstown, on Monday, 12th June.

Following a gruelling morning of judging and a longer afternoon of sharing their project ideas to more judges and members of the public the pupils were tired by 3pm.

The following pupils were awarded Bronze Crest Awards: Alanna Moore, Orla Rice, Niamh Weir and Elle O'Neill for their project “How your diet effects your concentration”

and Edel Marken, Ellie McCaul and Aoife Dickinson for their project “Does the amount of time you spend on social media affect your mood?”

The pupils have surveyed about 300 pupils and hope to enter the BT young Scientist Competition in Dublin in January 2018.
