On Saturday the 12th May, as part of the annual Geo Club trip, a group of Yr.11 students ventured off to Carlingford Adventure Centre, Co. Louth for an action packed day of activities.
In the morning session, two teams competed to build their own rafts for a boat race. Whilst 'Team Steve' raced ahead with a very coordinated approach worthy of an Oxbridge boat race, 'Team Stena Line' faced a few technical issues ending with team members abandoning ship. With encouragement from their teammates, the students then took part in pier jumping.
Following their well-deserved lunch they headed off for the challenge course. The teams competed to win the most gems through a range of mental and physical games similar to that on ‘The Crystal Maze'. After a great start from 'Team Steve', 'Team Stena Line clawed their way back and the result was a draw. The group headed home exhausted but are already looking forward to next year’s trip.
