Faith in Action
The Year 14 Faith in Action programme ended with the full year group heading to Clonard Monastery for an End of Year Liturgy and Penitential service. All Year 14 students at St Dominic’s participate in the ‘Faith in Action’ programme for one hour weekly over a six month period led by the RE department. The Faith in Action programme includes a range of spirituality based talks such as an introduction to Queen’s Chaplaincy and the work of Living Youth. The students are also guided in a series of sessions from the Alpha Programme (an international faith development programme for young adults). Faith volunteering opportunities are also interwoven into this RE programme, with a number of students achieving their Gold John Paul II Awards.
Clonard’s Children’s and Youth Liturgy team led by Brendan Dineen and ably helped by a number of Redemptorist priests led Wednesday’s liturgy, with a number of St Dominic’s Clonard volunteers leading their year group in prayer. Pupils were also encouraged to both volunteer with the Clonard Novena team this May and to visit Clonard chapel. The Clonard team have set up a lovely prayer space for exam students and all are very welcome to pop in to pray/meditate. Many thanks to Mrs Wilson from the RE dept. for organising this event.
