Cookery Demonstration presented by Liz Browne from the Livestock and Meat Commission

Last term all Year 10 Home Economics pupils had the opportunity to participate in a cookery demonstration presented by Liz Browne from the Livestock and Meat Commission (LMC).  The nutritional benefits of consuming red meat, and the importance of shopping locally to support the NI farming community were explained. The girls then sampled two delicious dishes which were a ‘Lamb Curry’ and ‘Turkish Flatbread with beef, red onion, feta and pomegranate’, both of which they thoroughly enjoyed.  LMC kindly provided each pupil with a ‘Beef & Lamb’ cookbook so they could try other recipes at home.  The Year 10, and HE staff would like to extend our thanks to Liz and the LMC for this opportunity, we already look forward to next year’s demonstrations.
