Last term 30 Year 8/9 pupils and a parent took part in our annual ‘Parent and Daughter’ cookery classes. The theme for these classes was Christmas Cookery to reduce food wastage and give new recipe ideas to use up leftovers. The recipes included a ‘healthy turkey curry’ with spring rolls, and pizza, as well as Christmas treats including white chocolate and cranberry cookies and chocolate coconut truffles, both ideal for homemade gifts. All families were given a cook book, including additional recipes, so the cooking could continue at home. All the participants and staff thoroughly enjoyed the experience, parents commented they particularly enjoyed the opportunity to spend one to one time with their daughter.
