Being Well, Doing Well
St Dominic’s is a Being Well, Doing Well school. This is our commitment to enhance the emotional health of our students, parents and guardians, caregivers and staff.

As parents and guardians, you will be very aware of the increasing challenges associated with emotional health and we want to do our best to support you as seek to deal with these.

We wish to provide ongoing process to enable students and staff to manage, regulate and protect their emotional health and to value the link between emotional health, attendance and achievement. Our vision is

“that St Dominic’s is a school community where individuals feel at ease with themselves, are aware of their emotional health, have the tools to regulate it and better manage difficulties. A school where the staff and students can cultivate their happiness.”
Accessing the School Counsellor
One of the aims of the Being Well, Doing Well programme at St Dominic’s is to make it easier for students to self-refer to the school’s counselling service. If a student wishes to be referred to counselling, they should fill in the electronic version of the form below and email it to
counselling@stdominics.belfast.ni.sch.uk

Our students will also be given a QR code to allow them to access the form directly.

We are a firm believer in our students seeking help and talking about their emotional difficulties and are encouraging the idea of the ‘Double Promise’, whereby if students promise to talk about something they are worried about, we promise to listen, support and guide them as best we can.
