Reading Scheme for Year 8
This year in St Dominic’s, all year 8 pupils have been enrolled in the Bookbuzz Reading Scheme. This is a Book Trust reading programme which encourages reading for pleasure and the development of comprehension and language skills. Five novels have been chosen as reading books to be enjoyed at home and outside of classroom study. They are: My Own Lightening by Lauren Wolk; Our Sister Again by Sophie Cameron; Onyeka by Tola Okogwu; Dread Wood by Jennifer Killick; Twitch by MG Leonard.
Other books below are also recommended for year 8 readers!
Please help develop the reading habit at home by encouraging your daughter to read for pleasure every night. The novels should be kept in good condition and returned to the appropriate English teacher when requested.
