Handmade with STEAM Competition Silver Award Winners!

The following girls took part in a Technology and Design STEAM Competition at the end of last year with Mrs Turner.

"A very artistic outcome which is strongly visual, sensory and pretty. The presentation showed the journey from the initial idea to the final product with clarity. Scientific thinking and testing was followed throughout the process. It was excellent to see the background research the team completed as they progressed in their journey. The videos which were included in the presentation were very informative, especially the one on the functioning of the instrument. Some thoughts about the final product from both judges: although we could hear the difference in timbre between the various shakers, the pitch difference was less clear; one improvement we would advise is to keep the same material inside all shakers but perhaps reduce the volume of the air inside each of the shakers, as this might make a clear difference in pitch. Very well done to the team for their commitment and team spirit!"
