The Intermediate Biology Olympiad is an annual competition, organised by the Royal Society of Biology, aimed at the top A Level Biologists. There were over

17000 students worldwide who took part in this year’s competition.  This year five of our year 13 pupils took part in June.

The competition consists of 60 multiple choice questions testing all areas of Biology, including many topics not taught at As Level, and is designed to stretch the ablest students. The girls felt challenged after the exam.

Well done to Una McGowan (Silver), Emma McCartney and Ella Mathews (highly commended) and Evie Dawson (commended).
