The Seasonal Cookery Club provides pupils with opportunities to extend and enrich their learning beyond the classroom through practical, hands-on culinary experiences.

Building on the knowledge and skills developed in Home Economics lessons, pupils create a range of seasonal dishes and baked products throughout the year, including Christmas and Easter themed recipes. The club encourages creativity, independence and problem-solving, while allowing pupils to apply their learning in a real-life context and socially interact with others.

Participation in the club supports the development of a wide range of skills including:

  • Practical food preparation and cookery skills

  • Planning and organisation

  • Creativity and presentation

  • Teamwork and communication

  • Food safety awareness

  • Confidence and independence

Through these enrichment opportunities, pupils are encouraged to develop skills and interests that support personal wellbeing and may inspire future study and career pathways within areas such as food science, nutrition, hospitality and catering.

When: Wednesdays, 3.15pm – 4.15pm

Who can attend: Open to pupils from all year groups.

Dates for individual sessions are advertised throughout the academic year.
