St Dominic’s Welcomes German Connection Delegates for Sustainability in Education Visit
On Thursday, 12th June, St Dominic’s had the pleasure of hosting visitors from the German Connection as part of their Sustainability in Education conference. The delegation sought to engage with a secondary school recognised for its environmental efforts, and St Dominic’s—proudly holding Eco School status and the coveted Green Flag—was selected as a model of best practice.
During the visit, Mrs McCartan and members of the school’s Eco Club gave an insightful presentation on the club’s ongoing initiatives and impact within the school community. Mrs Turner then highlighted an innovative Sustainability Project currently being undertaken by Year 10 students, while Mrs McLaughlin shared her work on embedding sustainability across the curriculum through policy review and strategic recommendations.
The visit was a great success and initiated meaningful discussions on international collaboration and the future of sustainability in education. We look forward to potential partnerships and shared projects with schools involved in this inspiring initiative.
