Technology and Design Club

The Technology and Design Department run a variety of projects and activities throughout the year to give pupils the opportunity to use tools, acquire skills and be creative. The following is a range of activities on offer:

• Year 8 Halloween conker spiders – Year 11 mentors

• Year 8 Christmas laser decorations – Year 14 mentors

• Christmas bazaar creations – Year 14

• Collaborative project with Physics and TD - Handmade with STEAM Project -an educational project designed by a network of creative individuals from academia, business and education. (Silver Award winners 2024/2025). – Year 11

• Collaborative project with Physics and TD - Eureka Institute of Physics Competition

• BT Young Scientist Competition

• Women in Engineering - Sentinus

• Arkwright scholarship

• Thompson Aero Seating – taster day. Year 13 pupils.

• International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) with Design ID. Year 11

• Year 14 ASOS trip to Custom House Square.

• Collaborative Project with Technology and Design and Eco – Hazel Khamanra (Queens’s University).

• Eco sustainability Project showcasing the Handmade with STEAM Musical instrument. K Turner and JM McCartan.

• Spirit Engineering Masterclass – Year 13

• The technology department plan to help out the Eco Club with making bird/bee boxes in term 3.
