At St Dominic’s Grammar School Belfast, we believe that financial education is an essential life skill that empowers our young people to thrive in an increasingly complex world. Our vision is to develop confident, informed and responsible learners who can make thoughtful financial decisions at every stage of their lives.
We are committed to embedding high-quality financial education across all key stages, ensuring that every pupil gains a strong foundation in understanding money, managing resources and planning for the future. Through a progressive programme of learning, students will explore real-life financial situations—ranging from budgeting and saving to borrowing, student finance and independent living—enabling them to apply knowledge in meaningful and practical ways.
Our approach promotes critical thinking, resilience and independence, encouraging pupils to question, reflect and make sound judgements. We recognise the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our school community and aim to provide an inclusive curriculum that is accessible, relevant and sensitive to all.
By working in partnership with staff, external agencies and the wider community, we strive to deliver engaging, up-to-date and impactful learning experiences. Ultimately, our goal is to equip every learner with the confidence and capability to navigate their financial future wisely, contributing positively to society and achieving personal success.
