Bulgaria Ski Trip 2026
The Bulgaria Ski Trip 2026 was an unforgettable experience for our pupils, offering a unique opportunity to embrace adventure, develop new skills and create memories that will last a lifetime.
From the moment they arrived, pupils immersed themselves in a programme that combined skiing, cultural experiences and personal growth. Whether it was snow tubing, bowling, karaoke or skiing itself, the week encouraged everyone to challenge themselves, lift up one another and make the most of every opportunity.
Each day on the slopes brought new achievements. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, pupils developed their skiing ability and grew in confidence with every run. Whether they were putting on skis for the first time or building on previous experience, they approached every challenge with determination, resilience and enthusiasm.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the trip was seeing the progress made by every member of the group. Pupils stepped outside their comfort zones, celebrated personal successes and those of others, encouraging one another to push their limits throughout the week.
Away from the pistes, the group enjoyed the opportunity to experience Bulgaria, explore the resort and try new cuisine adding another dimension to the experience. The trip also provided valuable time for pupils to strengthen friendships and build new connections.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who made this opportunity possible. We are especially grateful to our parents for their continued support and trust, which enabled our pupils to participate in such a rewarding experience.
Special thanks are also due to the staff who organised and accompanied the visit. Their commitment, willingness to give their time, and enthusiasm ensured that every pupil enjoyed a safe and memorable experience.

Beyond the Pitch 2026 – Madrid GAA Tour
The Beyond the Pitch 2026 Madrid Tour was a landmark experience for our Gaelic Games players, marking the first time St. Dominic’s has taken a team of pupils abroad to represent the school in both sport and cultural exchange.
More than a sports tour, the trip combined Gaelic football and camogie with leadership, cultural learning and shared experiences that extended far beyond the pitch.
Throughout the visit, our pupils took part in a wide range of activities that showcased both their sporting ability and their personal development. This included delivering coaching sessions to students at the International School of Madrid, where they demonstrated excellent leadership, communication and enthusiasm, while proudly representing St. Dominic’s.
A key highlight of the tour was a competitive Gaelic football fixture against Madrid Harps, where our players displayed outstanding skill, teamwork and determination in challenging conditions. For some senior pupils, it marked their final appearance in school colours, adding a special emotional significance to the occasion.
The group also had the opportunity to experience the culture and history of Madrid first-hand. Activities included exploring the city by bike, visiting key landmarks, learning about Spanish history, and experiencing cultural traditions such as an unforgettable flamenco performance in one of Madrid’s most historic venues. The tour also included visits to significant sites such as the Irish Embassy, offering pupils a broader understanding of Ireland’s presence and connections abroad.
Alongside the structured programme, pupils enjoyed time together exploring the city, strengthening friendships, and building lasting memories through shared experiences such as group meals, sightseeing, and relaxing in the Madrid sunshine.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who made this opportunity possible. We are especially grateful to our parents for their continued support, and to our sponsors, including RMC Building Services (Belfast), whose generosity helped enhance the experience for our pupils.
Most importantly, we commend our pupils, who were exceptional ambassadors for St. Dominic’s throughout the tour. Their behaviour, enthusiasm and sense of responsibility were exemplary at all times, and they represented their school, families and communities with pride.
We also acknowledge the commitment and dedication of the staff who organised and accompanied the trip, ensuring a safe, enriching and memorable experience for all involved.
The Beyond the Pitch tour truly lived up to its name—an experience that went far beyond sport, creating friendships, confidence, cultural awareness and memories that will stay with our pupils long after their time at school.

Paris Trip January 2025
In January 2025, GCSE and A Level French students spent four days in the city of Paris. During the trip, the pupils had the opportunity to practise their language skills and discover more about French culture and lifestyle. Pupils were treated to a sightseeing bus tour of Paris, an evening cruise on the River Seine, as well as a visit to the Eiffel Tower, a day at Disneyland Paris and much more.
Pupils were able to see the benefits of language learning and use their skills outside the classroom, as well as build strong friendships with pupils in other year groups and create lasting memories. See what the pupils had to say for themselves below!
“We were very lucky to have had the opportunity to go on the French trip to Paris where we experienced the French culture, visited famous monuments and areas in the city, and got to practise speaking French, inspiring many of us to continue studying the language beyond GCSE. It was also an amazing opportunity to strengthen friendships, make new ones and talk to girls in year groups both older and younger than us. The trip was an amazing opportunity and anyone who is offered to go should definitely take it if possible!”
