World Book Day 2026

St Dominic’s celebrated World Book Day 2026 with a range of literacy activities across the school, including games, reading sessions and quizzes designed to encourage a love of reading among pupils.

This year’s theme focused on Women’s World Books, with students exploring texts and resources that highlighted the achievements of trailblazing Irish women. Pupils had the opportunity to learn about influential female figures from a variety of fields while engaging in discussions and reading activities linked to the theme.

The day provided a valuable opportunity to promote reading for pleasure and to celebrate the importance of literature in developing literacy across the curriculum.
