University Research Volunteers at St Dominic’s

St Dominic’s run a research programme in conjunction with Bath University and Global Action Plan.  In 2025 we had 2 teams of participants (Year 9s and Year 13s).  The programme centres on Common Values and involves the completion of a series of tasks including: - team discussions and feedback, viewing video clips, collating team opinions and the completion of ranking tasks and a series of individual online surveys (while navigating the trick questions!). 

In 2026 for the first time, we began a second university partnership with the University of Oxford, enrolling on the BrainWaves programme.   This programme is led by the Department of Psychiatry at Oxford University which seeks to collect mental health and wellbeing data from young people on an annual basis, tracking and analysing their responses over a period of up to ten years.
